Milligan College President Dr. William B. Greer Appointed to Bank of Tennessee Board of Directors

Roy L. Harmon, Jr., Chairman and CEO of the now combined Bank of Tennessee, Carter County Bank and Mountain Community Bank, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. William B. Greer as its newest Board Member. Dr. Greer is currently serving as the President of Milligan College. He is a 1985 Milligan graduate, completed an MBA from East Tennessee State University and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. Previously, Dr. Greer served for 12 years as a member of the college’s faculty and was the Director of the MBA Program and Area Chair for Professional Learning.  He then served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement for five years, before being named President in 2011.

Bill Greene and his entire team have long demonstrated that good management, excellent customer service, and a genuine concern for the community is a recipe for success.  I look forward to serving our region through my membership on the board of such an outstanding bank,” said Dr. Greer.

“Dr. Greer has strong academic credentials, private sector experience and now is the leader of a great private college.  He brings a lot of expertise and insight to our board” said Harmon.

Dr. Greer is very involved in the regional community.  He serves on numerous corporate and community boards and has a long history of giving his time, talents and treasures to many. He and his wife, Edwina, live in Johnson City, Tennessee, and have two sons, Logan and Jeremy.
