Bank of Tennessee Donates to Boone Street Market Capital Campaign

Bank of Tennessee presented Jonesborough Locally Grown with a donation of $2000 to support their capital campaign for permanent building space in Historic Downtown for the Jonesborough Farmers’ Market.

Jonesborough Locally Grown is a non-profit organization that manages the Jonesborough Farmers Market and is developing the new Boone Street Market Store.  Boone Street Market will be major new market for locally-produced food, located on Boone Street, open 6 days per week with some evening hours.

Karen Childress, Executive Director of Jonesborough Locally Grown said, “We are very grateful for this support from Bank of Tennessee.  Their $2000 contribution brings us to 85% of our $78,500 capital goal.  We are now confident that we will meet our goal and we are eager to begin work to turn Boone Street Market from a vision to a reality.”

This will give them even more opportunity to see all the wonderful shops, restaurants, and historic attractions that we have to offer here. We at Bank of Tennessee wanted to be a part of making this improvement happen,” said Whitson.

The Jonesborough Farmers Market is currently located in Courthouse Square, just off Main Street in Historic Downtown Jonesborough, TN. Operating hours are 8am to Noon on Saturdays from May to October. In addition to fresh locally grown vegetables, plants, meats, cheeses and baked goods, the Saturday market features live music, a café area and crafts. Jonesborough Locally Grown plans to open the Boone Street Market Store, located in the former Bob’s Exxon building as soon as the building has been fully renovated.
