The keynote speaker at the ceremony was David Beamer – father of Todd Beamer, a passenger on United Flight 93 who rallied other passengers in an attempt to take back control of the airplane during the September 11th attacks. His words “Let’s Roll” are now infamous and have become the rally cry for American heroism.

“Todd Beamer epitomized servant leadership in his daily life and on that fateful day. It is with great honor that Milligan welcomes his father to assist in recognizing the tremendous servant leaders in our region who are doing an outstanding job of integrating their faith with their profession,” said Milligan President, Dr. Bill Greer.

“Our culture, our society and out nation really needs some positive Christian examples of doing the right thing,” said Mr. Beamer. He challenged the award recipients to continue their work and take advantage of the opportunities presented to them to make the world a better place in the name of Christianity.
