Tony Howell
Executive Vice President, Correspondent Banking
Tony Howell is Executive Vice President of the Correspondent Banking Division of Bank of Tennessee. Correspondent Banking partners with new, often called "De Novo," Banks in states typically bordering Tennessee. De Novo Banks require a partner bank for deposits, loans, investments, data processing, and other banking services, while in organization and on an ongoing basis upon receiving their charter.
Howell has worked in banking for the majority of his career. He joined Bank of Tennessee in 1993 with a vast background in financial services, credit, and lending. He is an honors graduate of East Tennessee State University and various Virginia banking schools. He served as Chairman of the Southeastern School of Consumer Credit at Vanderbilt.
While residing in Bristol, Howell was a Bristol Jaycee and a Kiwanis Club member along with being involved in the United Way Allocations. He is the past Allocations Committee Chairman of the United Way of Kingsport, and a Leadership Kingsport Alumni. He has been a volunteer coach at the Boys and Girls Club of Kingsport, the Commissioner and coach of the Colonial Heights CHAC baseball programs and a baseball coach in the Rebels AABC organization. Howell is a member of Colonial Heights Christian Church.
